Free Lawn to Wildflowers Online Presentation
Join us at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9, for a free webinar with Dr. Nash Turley (above) of the University of Central Florida. Dr. Turley will introduce Lawn to Wildflowers, a community science effort focused on converting lawns to pollinator-friendly wildflower habitat while engaging the public in collecting plant pollinator data.
The project includes a mobile app that educates users about pollinator natural history and lawn restoration techniques while helping them to find and purchase native plants and seeds.
Participants will learn the extent of ecological impacts of lawns in the U.S., as well as the importance of converting lawns to native wildflower meadows. Plus, Dr. Turley will share his procedure for turning lawns into beautiful wildflower meadows.
